WHO CAN
JOIN?
We welcome all UK-based counsellors and psychotherapists, including pre-qualified and retired colleagues to join the Union.
By applying to join PCU, you are conforming that you will not practice conversion therapy and that you will abide by the PCU Rule Book.

Subscription
categories
Practising Therapists
We have 3 subscription categories available to practising therapists:
The standard subscription is what most of our members pay and we would encourage you to choose this option if this is a comfortable amount for you to pay.
Our reduced subscription is offered as part of our commitment to make PCU accessible to as many members as possible. We do not ask for any proof of income. Please choose this option if you feel that this is best for you.
Our top subscription is for members who would like to contribute more to the work of PCU.
Retired Therapists
We warmly welcome retired counsellors and psychotherapists to remain part of or to join the Union.
We do not offer a separate membership rate specifically for retired members, retired members are invited to join at any of our standard membership rates.
Please choose whichever option feels right for you from the options shown under ‘’Practising Therapists” (in the box above).
Retired members continue to be a valued part of the Union. Your experience and ongoing involvement are very much appreciated.

Pre-Qualifying Therapists
This membership category is intended for those on a pre-qualifying course only. If you are qualified and on a post-qualifying course, you are not eligible for this category.
We have 2 subscription rates available to pre-qualifying therapists:

*Applicants for this category are required to provide proof of pre-qualifying status and course dates.
You will need to send a copy of a letter from your training organisation (on headed paper) confirming dates of study, including the start and end dates of your course, to admin@pcunion.org.uk.

**We offer a discounted membership of £1 per year to pre-qualifying members of:

Black Therapy Matters
Black Psychotherapy
Applicants for this category will be required to provide:
1. A copy of a letter from your training organisation (on headed paper) confirming dates of study, including the start and end dates of your course.
2. Evidence of membership of BAATN/Black Therapy Matters/Black Psychotherapy, this would normally be a photograph of your membership card or a confirmation email.
These documents will need to be sent to admin@pcunion.org.uk.

Applicants for this category will be required to provide:
