PCU’s First Parliamentary Drop-In Session
Success! PCU’s First Parliamentary Drop-In Session
An enormous thank you to all the MPs and parliamentary staff who took the time to join Psychotherapy and Counselling Union (PCU)’s first Parliamentary Drop-In Session on 3rd June in Westminster. What a huge success it was!
Representing PCU was our newly elected General Secretary Liz Martin, supported by Mat Pronger, NEC member, and Marvis Steward, School Counselling Campaign member. All were delighted to have the chance to talk about the invaluable work of our union and members; our campaigns, the key issues, pressures facing our profession, and the importance of recognising and protecting counselling and psychotherapy services across the UK.
The success of PCUs first event, made possible by the generous hosting of John McDonnell MP and his staff, not only marks an important step in strengthening PCU’s parliamentary engagement but also the continuing advocacy for our profession at a national level.
We are incredibly grateful and so encouraged by the enthusiasm, interest, engagement and support shown by all who attended.
Exciting times lie ahead for PCU, so watch this space!
